Turn Silent Execs Into Sales Funnels.

Your execs should dominate LinkedIn - but they’re too busy. We’re taking on 2 more companies (must be $10M+ revenue or Series A+) to run their LinkedIn presence end-to-end.

I see a lot of folklore about commenting on LinkedIn so I thought I'd set the record straight.

"Comment 50 times a day and watch your following explode!"

That’s rubbish.

I’ve seen creators who comment religiously on every viral post they see. They've been doing it for months.

Their follower count? Barely moved.

Why?

Because commenting is just a traffic strategy.

It gets eyeballs on your content and profile.

But if your content is rubbish? Those people bounce immediately.

You're basically inviting people to a party that sucks. They peek in, see it's boring, and leave.

So yes, the number one priority must be creating great content.

But once you've got that? There are three types of strategic comments that actually move the needle.

Relationship Comments

When someone comments on your post, a small slice of their audience sees it.

How do you get more people to comment? You build real relationships with peers.

You give before you get.

You're looking for people who get similar or slightly better engagement to you. Not your customers - your peers.

It's the same as when you're starting a business. Your first customers are usually people you go over the top to help.

Find creators in your niche with similar follower counts. Go over the top supporting their content. Leave thoughtful comments. Send them DMs with ideas.

Help them make money.

It's not just about the comment, it's about trying to deliver as much value as possible to that person.

I did this a bunch when starting out. Everything possible to help Chris grow his business. Daily content feedback for Dr Miro.

When you consistently show up for people, they remember.

And when you post, they return the favour.

The best creators and businesspeople know this.

They built their core supporters by being a core supporter to others.

Where to find these peers: Look at who's commenting on top creators posts in your niche (not just who's posting).

The best supporters often aren't at the top of the mountain. They're often climbing next to you.

Visibility Comments

How? He shared about not having a father growing up on a post that was already going viral.

The key: Your comment needs to be so good it could be its own post.

Most creators mess this up completely. They spam AI-generated rubbish on Gary Vee or Justin Welsh’s posts.

Here’s what actually works:

  • Share a deeply personal story (like Lian did)

  • Add a funny or relevant image that stops the scroll

  • Take a contrarian stance that makes people think

Personally, I still think this is a bit of a lottery ticket but it works for some people.

Saywhat makes this a lot easier by showing all the posts in a single feed.

Social selling comments

This is commenting on posts by your ideal customers. No pitchslapping - just helping.

When a prospect posts or comments about a challenge, solve it in the comments. Share a framework. Drop a resource. Give them the answer.

Example: Founder struggling with cold email? Share the exact subject line that got you 40% opens.

I've seen single helpful comments turn into real business.

How to find opportunities:

  • Follow 50-100 ideal customers

  • Set up Sales Navigator alerts for when they post

Look for people with problems. Not just spray and pray outbound.

The Bottom Line

Good content will always beat good commenting.

But smart commenting amplifies good content.

See you next time,

Will
