Why It Works
These perform well because:
We are all nosey.
They require zero context. Anyone can read it and immediately get something from it.
It works whether you have 500 followers or 500,000:
Sean Clark (9k followers - 304 likes): “Hi LinkedIn, I’m Sean”
Jade Bonaculta (475k followers - 1,158 likes): “It’s been a while since I introduced myself”
Chris Donnelly (1.2m followers - 929 likes): “I’m 35. Living in London. Just had a baby boy.”
What You Need To Write Your Own
1/ Hook with your name and what you do.
First line: “Hey LinkedIn, I'm [name]."
Then immediately follow it with what you’re building in a way that makes people curious. Bring in some numbers or authority to give yourself credibility.
“Hey LinkedIn, I’m Steve.
I help global insurance brokerages prepare for AI:”
2/ Use a nice photo of yourself.
This is a trust-building post so show your face, like this.
3/ What you post about and why
Share what people will get from following you. How did you get here? What topics do you talk about? Who do you help? Tell people what’s in it for them.
