"Those broad LinkedIn topics will never work for my cybersecurity business."

I hear things like this at least twice a week from new Saywhat users who think their niche is too specialized for viral content.

But it's just not true. I've helped Saywhat users create niche-focused content that gets millions of impressions.

So my response is always the same:

"You don't need new ideas - just adapt proven formulas."

What do I mean?

You don't need to choose between high-performing themes and speaking to your niche.

You can have both.

Proven Topics + Your Target Audience

When people tell me "I can't find proven ideas for my niche," here is what I suggest:

  1. Find proven topics that have worked for a broader audience.

  2. Write a version specifically for your target audience by:

    • Naming your audience in the title (e.g., "harsh career truths" → "harsh consulting truths")

    • Addressing their specific experiences in your post

Remember: People engage most with content that feels really relevant to them. So tell them it's for them in the title.

3 Examples That Show This Works

Let me show you what I mean with real examples from our users:

Miko hit this one out the park by speaking directly to software engineers instead of posting generic career tips.

“Things not to say in job interviews” was a proven idea.

Nadeem sells to leadership teams and wrote a version just for them. It got him >5,000 niche focused followers.

3. "Harsh Consulting Truths" (~900 reactions)

Yousif didn't reinvent the wheel - "harsh truths" posts are everywhere.

But by telling consultants this was for them in the title, they listened and his post performed really well.

Try This Yourself:

So how can you apply this to your own content?

Here are 3 titles that work for virtually any industry - just customize them for yours:

  • 15 subtle rules of [your industry]

  • 10 years of [your industry] lessons in 60 seconds

  • Harsh realities every [person in your industry] needs to hear

Try one template this week.

Send it to me on LinkedIn when you post - I'd love to see how it performs!

See you next time.

P.S. I found these post topics browsing Saywhat’s database yesterday morning. If you want to try it yourself, you can start without spending a penny.
